Hearts and Hooves meets a local nursing Home

When the minis arrived at the nursing home from the Hearts and Hooves ranch, they had to take a restroom and grass-eating break before entering.

We took the horses inside to go meet the residents.

The residents were eager meet them, and one visitor was small enough to go on pony ride
around the facility!

There were dogs too - all therapy animals.

It feels good to have a new friend.

Balloon Art

Our volunteer has made a new friend

It's either a bracelet or a head piece

Then things got a little crazy

Career Day at TSU

One of YSB's lovely volunteers gave a presentation about career paths. Here, we are using a program on the computer to match us to a variety of career options.

Once, we had been matched, we found cards with those careers on them, and then we pondered

And pondered . . .

Another adventure at the Hearts and Hooves rescue ranch

This visit, we walked a horse through a short maze to self-reflect. The therapy horses are said to behave as reflections of ourselves.

We were encouraged to talk to the horses. If their ears are perked up, they are listening.

Boo!

Mid-afternoon snack

Therapy is hard work!

After the maze, we bathed them.
